Our Team

Terry Wade founded TLW Consulting LLC to help energy companies navigate complex public affairs challenges, drawing on his background in media, communications, international affairs, and the energy sector.

Based in Houston, TX, with fluency in Spanish and Portuguese, he has held leadership positions at some of the world’s largest energy, public relations, and media companies.

He has significant experience engaging with corporate leaders, public officials, and top-tier media to manage reputation, mitigate risks, and craft narratives that resonate with stakeholders.

Career highlights include:

  • Global Head of Media Relations at ExxonMobil (2024–2026), directing all top-tier media engagements, driving earned media win rates higher than 90%, editing earnings scripts for the CFO, and helping launch a retail shareholder voting program.

  • Supervisor of Corporate & Digital Communications at Aramco Americas (2018–2024), overseeing strategy for content creation, media relations, digital channels, and crisis communications.

  • Senior Vice President at Edelman (2016–2018), leading the corporate affairs and energy practice in Houston, securing over $1.5 million in new business, and repositioning corporate narratives for clients.

  • Bureau Chief, Senior Correspondent and Correspondent at Reuters News (2004–2016) in Houston, Lima, and Sao Paulo, covering energy, commodities, financial markets, politics, and economics.

Terry holds degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of California Berkeley.
